GFS x CodeZ Girls Virtual Workshop
In collaboration with CodeZ Girls, Girls for Science hosted a virtual workshop on the importance of computer science, Artificial Intelligence, the World Wide Web, Android/iOS apps, and a bonus Python coding session!
GFS x Touch the Words Book Drive 2020
In collaboration with Touch the Words Inc., Girls for Science hosted a book drive! We collected 80+ books from our local community to send to communities in need!
GFS Melbourne 2020
In early 2020, Girls for Science Melbourne was founded! Opened by Samyukta Sriganesh and Srushti Shah, this Australia-based chapter truly extends our outreach!
In the Fall/Winter time of 2019, we held a 7 week STEM workshop about the scientific method and how to conduct a science experiment. Students from grades 1-5 had a great time learning about how to ask a question, come up with a hypothesis, carry out a procedure, and create a conclusion based on their results!

In the Summer of 2019, we visited two schools in India. In Mysore, India, we hosted a workshop about discoveries and inventions made by women. While in Chennai, India, we hosted a workshop about disease prevention and the proper hand washing technique!

Meeting with Representative Anna Eskamani 2019
At the beginning of 2019, Founders Sweta and Divya Srinivasan met with Representative Anna Eskamani of FL House District 47. They shared their mission and spoke about what communities can do to create more learning opportunities!
Fall/Winter 2018
In the Fall/Winter time of 2018, we held a 7 week STEM workshop about women in STEM. Students grades 1-3 had a great time participating in weekly activities relating to famous scientists!
Summer 2018
In 2018, we visited Taralabalu Education Centre in India and taught the 8th grade girls about accomplished women scientists. Awards were also given to the 9th grade girls with the three highest scores in science.
Summer 2017
In the year 2017, we worked along with North South Foundation to teach students in India about the proper hand washing technique. We visited a school in Mysore, and for 5 days, we taught the students how to wash their hands well and how to stay healthy to prevent illness.
